  • Central Cathedral (max size) + Large Marketplace + Bathhouse + Theatre + School + Hospital.
  • Houses arranged in 4×4 blocks around a central garden.
  • Surrounded by Paved streets (reduces fire spread).
  • Required goods: Cider, Spices, Meat, Bread, Books, Glassware, Candlesticks, Pearls → all imported or produced on secondary islands.
  • Glassmaker, Bookbinder, Pearl farm on same island if possible (small footprint).

D. Noblemen Quarter (1,500–3,000 Noblemen)

  1. The Spy-Proof Block: Enemies can send spies to your markets. If a spy reaches your market, your citizens riot. To counter this, create "gated communities." Use a single road entry point to your noble block and surround the rest with decorative trees (which block spy movement).
  2. The Firebreak Grid: In vanilla Anno 1404, fire spreads. In Venice, the Corsair uses fire ships. Always leave a 1-tile gap between every 2x2 block of houses, then fill it with a garden. This stops fire from destroying your entire city.
