• Episodes 101–110: The confrontation. Daksha humiliates Shiva in front of all the gods. Unable to bear the insults hurled at her husband, Sati transforms into her cosmic Adi Shakti form.
• Episodes 111–115: Sati declares, "This body was given by you, father. I discard it." She immolates herself in the yogic fire. Television screens across India went dark with grief.
• Episodes 116–120: Lord Shiva’s rage. He manifests as Virabhadra, destroys Daksha’s yagna, beheads Daksha (later replaces it with a goat’s head), and goes into intense Tandava with Sati’s body. Vishnu’s Sudarshan Chakra cuts Sati’s body into 51 pieces (the Shakti Peethas). The season ends with Shiva retreating into deepest meditation, waiting for Sati to be reborn as Parvati.
