Download Pantone Colors — For Illustrator Link [upd]
Pantone Connect
Adobe recently removed most built-in Pantone color libraries from Illustrator due to a licensing change, moving them to the subscription-based extension. If you need to restore these colors, you have three primary paths: using the official extension, a manual file-copy workaround, or free community alternatives like Freetone. 1. Official Method: Pantone Connect
Introduction
- Open Illustrator.
- Go to Window > Swatches.
- Click the Swatch Libraries Menu (the icon looks like three books/folders) in the bottom left corner of the Swatches panel.
- Look for Color Books. If "Pantone Solid Coated," "Pantone Solid Uncoated," etc., are listed, you do not need to download anything.
- Check your operating system: Ensure that you're using a compatible operating system (Windows or macOS).
- Update Illustrator: Make sure you're using the latest version of Adobe Illustrator.
- Restart your computer: Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve installation issues.
- Direct link provides instant access to
.ase (Adobe Swatch Exchange) or .acb (Adobe Color Book) files.
- Files are pre-mapped to Pantone Matching System (PMS) solid coated/uncoated, pastels, neons, metallics, and CMYK-coated bridges.
- After download, double-click the file to auto-install swatches into Illustrator’s Swatches Panel.
- Alternative: via
Window > Swatch Libraries > Other Library for manual loading.
