- Select a clip on the timeline
- Click Effects > Transitions or Effects > Video Effects
- Browse and select a transition or effect
- Drag and drop the transition or effect onto the clip
- Mark In/Out on the section of the timeline you want to render.
- Go to Sequence > Render & Add to Timeline (or press Alt + R).
- EDIUS renders that section into a new video track above the original.
