Key Install: Kuka Sim Pro 20

1. Standard Installation Steps

To install and activate KUKA.Sim Pro 2.0 (or version 2.1), follow these steps to use your product key and complete the setup:

  1. Using a license for a different version – A KUKA SIM Pro 3.1 key will not work for version 20. Keys are version-locked.
  2. Ignoring the hostname case-sensitivity – Windows is case-insensitive, but the Linux-based license backend is not. Ensure the computer name in the .lic file exactly matches hostname in CMD.
  3. Installation on a domain controller – KUKA licensing struggles with domain-level Group Policy restrictions on service startup. Use a workgroup PC or dedicated VM.
  4. Missing Visual C++ Runtimes – The key installer depends on VC++ 2015-2022. Download the "All-in-one" from Microsoft.
