Creating Bootable Media from the 32-bit ISO

  1. Download Rufus (portable version).
  2. Select your USB drive (minimum 4GB).
  3. Under “Partition scheme,” select MBR (Master Boot Record) – not GPT.
  4. Under “Target system,” select BIOS or UEFI-CSM (not pure UEFI). Most 32-bit CPUs predate UEFI.
  5. Click START. When prompted for “Write in DD mode or ISO mode?” – choose DD mode for LMDE.
