Code | Mario Kart Ds Qr
Dry Bones
Originally released in 2005 for the Nintendo DS, Mario Kart DS does not have a built-in QR code scanner or any features that utilize them. All in-game content, including characters like , Daisy , and Waluigi , is unlocked by earning gold trophies in Grand Prix modes. The association with "QR codes" often stems from:
- Scanning: A friend scans your code.
- Result: Their DS camera reads the pattern, and their game recreates your exact drawing.
- Custom Tracks: Ranging from high-quality "Retro Remixes" to wild, impossible creations.
- Texture Hacks: Changing Mario’s outfit or turning Koopa Troopa into a different character.
- CTGP (Custom Track Grand Prix): Massive mod packs that add dozens of new tracks to the game.
- Creation: The player draws an emblem in-game.
- Extraction: Using a flashcart or Action Replay device, the player extracts the save file.
- Encoding: PC software converts the emblem binary data into a QR code.
- Dissemination: The QR code is posted on forums or printed in magazines.
- Scanning: A player uses a homebrew application or a third-party device to scan the code, injecting the emblem data into their own save file.
