Programming Cable
You must connect the radio to your PC using a specialized cable. :

1. The "Ham" Route (CHIRP)
- General Settings: Squelch type, time-out timer, battery save options.
- Conventional Personality: Frequency, transmit power (High/Low), bandwidth (12.5 kHz or 25 kHz), and squelch (CSQ, PL/DPL, or digital signaling).
- Signaling: MDC1200 (for PTT ID, emergency, call alerts) and QT/DQT tones.
- Scan Lists and priority channel scanning.
- Button Programming: Assigning functions (e.g., monitor, scan, talkaround) to side buttons.
- Display & Menus: Customizing the alphanumeric display and menu options.
MDC1200 Signaling:
