Its vibrant, cartoonish graphics aged surprisingly well, but the gameplay could be grindy. The game’s fatal flaw was its aggressive "upgrade kit" system, where high-level parts could fail and destroy weeks of progress—a classic Korean MMO mechanic that frustrated many players.

However, they do not sell the game. They survive on donations for server costs. If a major publisher bought the rights to RayCity tomorrow, the private server would likely have to shut down. But given the niche nature of the game, that seems unlikely.
