Security Device Not Found Please Attach Your Dongle And Restart The Software Upd

Feature spec: "Security device not found — attach dongle and restart"

  • Disable Conflicting Devices:

    Modern security software (especially McAfee, Bitdefender, and CrowdStrike) sometimes misidentifies licensing drivers as "vulnerable drivers" or "potentially unwanted programs" (PUPs). They may block the hasplms.exe service from starting.

    • In Sentinel Admin Control Center (localhost:1947), look for "Sentinel Keys" > "Remote" or "Local."
    • If the license is remote, you need to configure the IP address of the network license server, not plug in a USB dongle.

      Driver/service check

      • Recent OS updates altering driver models or security policies (e.g., driver signing)
      • Endpoint protection blocking unsigned drivers or device access
