Malaysian Education System

A distinctive feature is the existence of (SJK(C) and SJK(T)), where lessons are conducted in Mandarin or Tamil while still following the national curriculum. This system allows cultural preservation but also means Malaysian students are often trilingual – speaking Bahasa Malaysia, English, and their mother tongue.

Primary School (Ages 7–12):

Compulsory six-year education.

• Co-curricular activities: Schools encourage students to participate in co-curricular activities, such as sports, clubs, and societies, to develop their interests and talents.
• Holidays: Malaysian schools have a long holiday break during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Eid al-Fitr) celebrations, which is a significant event in the Islamic calendar.
