1. Hold Shift and click Restart.
2. Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
3. Press 7 or F7 for “Disable driver signature enforcement.”
4. Install your programmer’s drivers immediately after boot.

• Install correct USB drivers (FTDI, VCP for TL866, Orange5 drivers).
• Run programmers as Administrator and disable Windows fast startup if using USB dongles that need exclusive access.
• Keep HxD (hex editor), checksum utilities, and VCDS/ODIS installed and licensed where required.

• This is usually a bad driver. Try a different USB port or a different version of the Prolific/FTDI driver.
