Virar-Alibaug Multimodal Corridor (VAMC)

The is a 126-kilometer access-controlled expressway designed to connect Navghar in Virar (Palghar district) to Balavali in Alibaug (Raigad district). It is intended to reduce travel time between these points from four hours to approximately one hour, bypassing heavy traffic in Mumbai and Thane. Route & Major Connectivity

• Road Connectivity: Improving existing roads and possibly building new ones for better road connectivity.
• Rail: There might be plans for railway lines or stations along the corridor to enhance public transport options.
• Waterways: Given Alibaug's coastal location, there could be proposals for ports, jetties, or ferry services to leverage sea connectivity.

• Virar Phata – Connects to NH-48 (Mumbai–Ahmedabad Highway) & Western Railway.
• Virar East – Junction with upcoming Virar–Dahanu road.
