vReveal Premium 3.2.0.13029: A Deep Dive into the Forgotten Powerhouse of Video Enhancement
Frame-level fixes
- No HDR or Log Support: It expects standard Rec.709 footage. No 10-bit, no RAW.
- 30-Day Trial Watermark: The free version added a persistent logo; Premium was required for export.
- Discontinued Activation: Because vReveal's license servers are offline, installing 3.2.0.13029 today is difficult. No new activations are possible.
- Outdated Codecs: It relies on older DirectShow filters. Modern HEVC (H.265) or VP9 files may not import.
- Artifacting: Aggressive Super-Resolution can introduce "ringing" edges and hallucinated details (pre-dating AI hallucination issues).

Key features and improvements
This was the "secret sauce" of vReveal. Traditional upscaling simply stretches pixels, making the image blurry. Super-resolution algorithms analyze multiple frames of a video to construct a higher-resolution image. If a detail is missing in one frame due to motion blur, the software looks at the previous or next frame to "find" that detail and composite it into a sharper image.
